News Flashes: Iconic Photos from the AP Archive
This year, we are pleased to announce that our collection features 15 iconic images assembled exclusively for ICFJ from the unparalleled AP archive. We’re grateful to the Associated Press for donating these exceptional images.
The photos highlight historic moments such as U.S. Marines planting the flag at Iwo Jima. Crowds cheer Amelia Earhart on the first solo female flight across the Atlantic. And the police fingerprint Rosa Parks, who refused to sit in the back of the bus in Montgomery, Ala.
The photos also feature cultural icons such as Muhammad Ali toying with the Fabulous Four. Marilyn Monroe famously poses on a subway grate, and center fielder Willie Mays makes a spectacular catch for the New York Giants. Each of the 15 photos comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the AP.
