ICFJ is looking to contract an operations and logistics assistant on a consultant basis to support our programming in Southeast Asia. The core responsibility will be to manage operations, logistics and procurement for ICFJ’s AIR Network.
The position is part-time of up to 25 hours of work per week and might include occasional travel around Southeast Asia. Salary range: US$800-1,000 a month (part-time).
Responsibilities:
- Provide AIR Network and its Regional Investigative Journalism Editor with logistics, financial and administrative support
- Recruit vendors such as translators and drivers and procure services such as hotels, conference venues and transportation
- Facilitate cash advance requests, expense and financial reports and budgets between AIR Network and ICFJ
- Event management during AIR Network events in Southeast Asia
Requirements:
- Current legal residence in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, or Thailand
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge of local languages and media/civil society networks in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, or Thailand
- Bachelor’s degree – logistics management certification (preferred)
- A minimum of 5 years of operations, logistics, procurement and administrative experience
- Experience with budgets, expense and financial reports, cash advances and recruitment of vendors
- Experience with USG-funded programs
- Strong organizational skills, effective attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Proficiency in the management and timely delivery of complex and high-level tasks
