Adam David Williams
Adam David Williams is a freelance investigative journalist and correspondent who has reported from Latin America since 2009. His work has appeared in National Geographic, The New York Times, Financial Times, The Guardian, El País, and Bloomberg, where he worked as a staff reporter in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. From 2018-2021, he was an investigative reporting fellow with the ICFJ and the Connectas journalism network. In 2023, he published a series with El País, which won a Fetisov Journalism Award for Outstanding Investigative Reporting.
During this fellowship, Williams hopes to write stories on an indigenous group in Panama with a high proliferation of HIV/AIDS in younger people. His articles will seek to address the innovative methods of receiving care for HIV/AIDS patients in these communities and the group’s preference to adhere to traditional medicine treatments.
