Alejandra Espejo
I have always aspired to help others. When thinking about my career, I looked at nonprofit institutions as the best way to work alongside incredible people to bring change around the world. And that is what I have found at ICFJ. I currently work as a finance and logistic assistant in the Mexico Border Investigative Reporting Hub. The program has truly opened my eyes to the importance of press freedom. And I am honored that I get to work alongside such incredible journalists and organizations.
My background: My experience includes event planning and financial support for nonprofits. As an event planner, I have organized orientations for fellows, coordinating with speakers and setting up workshops. As a finance and logistics assistant, I work closely with ICFJ’s finance team to ensure payments are processed so programs run smoothly. I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing from George Mason University. And I am currently working on my master’s in global affairs with a specialization in global conflict and security.
