Ana Bottallo

Ana Bottallo is a health reporter at Folha de São Paulo in Brazil. She holds a PhD in Zoology and Paleontology and uses her scientific background to better understand research and sources for her stories. She was previously a Fellow with the International Women’s Media Foundation and has received grants from organizations such as the Pulitzer Center and the Internews and Earth Journalism Network for her work in environmental reporting.
Bottallo plans to use this fellowship to write about the challenges, gaps, and impacts of telemedicine in different cities in Brazil, all linked to the Public Health System (SUS – Serviço Único de Saúde), which is one of the largest public health systems in the world.
