Cecilia Butini

Cecilia Butini is a freelance journalist based in Spain. She was previously a reporter for Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal, where she covered the pandemic, vaccines, drug shortages, and the broader healthcare and pharmaceutical industry in Europe. Butini has produced long-form articles, videos, and documentaries and is looking to cover topics at the intersection of health, the environment and social issues. Butini holds a Master of Science degree from the Columbia Journalism School, which she attended during her Fulbright Fellowship in 2017-18.

During the fellowship, Butini plans to investigate global access to promising health innovations, for example in the fields of antimicrobials, vaccines and radiology equipment.
