Charles Gitonga Njeru is a Kenyan-based Journalist. He writes on science and development. He is a 2021 fellow from the Council for the Advancement in Science Writing (CASW), a 2020 Fellow from the Earth Journalism Network, and a past grantee from the Fund of Investigative Journalism.
His stories have appeared in the BBC, Al Jazeera, the Guardian, New Scientist, Unearthed (Greenpeace International), the Christian Science Monitor, Reuters, Pacific Standard, Beijing Review, the Mail & Guardian, the Daily Beast, and many others.
Through the ICFJ Global Nutrition and Food Security Reporting Fellowship, Charles Gitonga Njeru wrote a story about how thoughtful urban agricultural policy can promote global health and save lives. Read here.
