Diego Ortiz

Diego Ortiz is a 2019 Professional Fellow from Latin America with ICFJ.

Diego Ortiz Jaramillo was born in Quito (Ecuador) in 1988. He studied philosophy and social communication. He has been a journalist at El Comercio, a national newspaper and one of the oldest of his country, for almost 10 years. As a journalist at El Comercio, he has produced news reports for television, radio, print, and online in the areas of culture, lifestyle, environment, science and technology. In 2015, Diego traveled to Turkey to partake in a training about news agencies with Anadolu Agency. He has also taken courses on literature and journalism at el Laboratorio de Escritura in Barcelona, inclusive education and learning at the Australia-Latin America Training Academy, and conservation at Unesco.
