Juan Diasgranados
Juan Diasgranados is a freelance reporter for the National Association of Black Journalists, writing for the new NABJ Media Network which launched in 2021. When Juan is not writing, Juan serves as the Public Affairs Manager for Miami-Dade County, overseeing and implementing the internal and external communications including all publications, videography, photography and crisis communication strategies for the office.
In his early career, Juan worked at WPTV in West Palm Beach as a social media manager and multi-media journalist. Several of Juan's stories have gone viral, including a Florida Atlantic University student who graduated at the age of 17, and a 5-year-old Drum Major from Belle Glade who ended up on "Ellen."
Juan is originally from the D.C. area and graduated from Hampton University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Legacy Magazine recognized his commitment to public service and named him as Legacy Miami 40 under 40. This combination of leadership and inspiration is exactly the kind of forward giving momentum that Mr. Diasgranados has dedicated his life’s work to in his community and around the county.
Juan is an active member of the South Florida community, serving as a member of the South Florida Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. Mr. Diasgranados lives in Miami and often spends his weekends fishing or attending Miami Heat games.
