Juan Zuniga
From a very young age, I’ve believed that journalism is essential for a strong democracy. Journalists hold government officials and politicians who engage in corrupt actions accountable, provide a voice to people who are oppressed, and create awareness to issues of vital importance. Being born and raised in Honduras, I have personally witnessed the positive changes that journalists have brought to my country and in Latin America. This is one of the main reasons why decided to join ICFJ. I want to use my knowledge and skills to help journalists make this world a better place. As a program manager, I assist in the logistical and administrative areas of the programs ICFJ runs.
My Background
I have a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in global affairs from George Mason University. My studies have allowed me to develop as a writer, problem solver and critical thinker.
Prior to joining ICFJ, I worked in public relations, which helped me develop strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
