Khatia Shamanauri

Khatia Shamanauri is a freelance journalist and lecturer at the University of Georgia and Caucasus School of Media. She specializes in data journalism and has a Master’s in Computational and Data Journalism from the Social Data School at Cardiff University.

Shamanauri hopes to use this fellowship to become more specialized in health journalism. Her reporting topics of interest for this fellowship are the emergence of phage technology in Georgia, as well as a data journalism series to investigate Russian disinformation campaigns which target innovative Western health approaches in post-Soviet countries.
