Luisa María Ruano Juárez

Luisa Ruano lives in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. She started in journalism in 2013, working for a local newspaper, where she covered topics related to community, women, history, culture, and arts. She studied CommunicationSciences at UniversidadMesoamericana. She has worked for other local media, as radio, television, and public relations. She currently works as a freelancer in content generation, voice-over, and audiovisual production projects. Her main interest is in written and audiovisual journalism. She belongs to Proyecto Aliadas, a collective of women communicators from western Guatemala, which seeks to make visible the work of women journalists and to train communicators in the region.
