Santiago Aulestia
Hello, my name is Santiago Daniel Aulestia Vargas. I was born in Quito, Ecuador, 40 years ago. I’m the last son of José and Fabiola, a mariner and a nurse. I got married three years ago to Paola, a Montessori teacher. We have a son named Udi Emmanuel. He is 2 years old.
I grew up in a big family of four brothers and three sisters. My older sister is almost 20 years older than me.
At the beginning of the year 2002, I started my career in communication at the University. I found a new way of understanding life and found many ways to express myself.
My first job was at a newspaper named La Hora. I wrote in the cultural section for four years. Then I got a job at another newspaper: El Comercio. I left that job because I got a scholarship to study for a Master’s Degree in Communication and Public Opinion. In 2012, I got a job at El Universo newspaper for a short-term contract. Then, in 2013, I started working in the Public Administration.
I have been taking care of my son since he was born, so my wife can work. I am very excited to start the course. This is a big opportunity to rebuild my career and leave something good for my son.
