Sheeka Sanahori
Sheeka Sanahori is a Bringing Home the World fellow in 2019.
Sheeka is Senior Producer at USA TODAY, where she produces and coordinates digital videos for the Humankind, Animalkind and Militarykind brands.
In her current role, Sheeka covers a wide variety of stories about inspiring people and animals and how they’re improving their communities. She’s a member of USA TODAY’s diversity committee where she focuses on finding ways to more accurately and fairly cover underrepresented communities. Sheeka has previously worked as a professional development workshop instructor for media professionals in Vietnam, and as a visiting resident at Asia’s largest digital magazine newsstand. Before joining the Humankind team, Sheeka was Senior Producer of Digital Media for WJZY in Charlotte, NC.
Sheeka is looking forward to gaining international reporting experience as a Bringing Home the World Fellow, where she’ll produce a video series on the people, animals and programs that are helping African elephants survive in Kenya.
Project: Sheeka will produce a video series on the population challenges of the African elephant in Kenya, and the people and programs that are contributing to the elephant’s survival.
