Sildania Osorio Murcia

Sildania Osorio Murcia is a feminist and defender of human rights based in El Salvador. Her areas of interest are: human rights, feminism, journalism, historical memory, political communication and public policy.

Murcia is the coordinator of the Legal First Aid Clinic of the Association of Journalists of El Salvador (APES).

She is a member of the Colectivo Salvadoreñas Construyendo Memoria (Salvadoran Women's Collective Building Memory) and the Asamblea Feminista (Feminist Assembly). She is also currently co-producing a film on feminist historical memory with the Salvadoreñas Construyendo Memoria collective and a feminist media organization in El Salvador named Alharaca.

Murcia has a degree in social communication from the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeon Cañas (UCA) with an emphasis on qualitative research in the areas of journalism and human rights. She is a faculty member in the Department of Communications and Culture at UCA.
