We are now seeking nominees whose pioneering coverage or media innovations have made an impact on the lives of people in their countries or regions. Candidates can be reporters, editors, technologists, media managers or citizen journalists. Those who meet the award’s criteria may nominate themselves. Please submit your nominations by Sunday, Feb. 17, 2023.

Opportunity for Brazilian Journalists to Investigate Scientific Disinformation

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is partnering with the Serrapilheira Institute to offer journalists, researchers and communications professionals from Brazil the opportunity to take part in the Disarming Disinformation “Investigathon” in the United States in April 2023. Up to three of the selected projects will receive grants to publish investigative and collaborative reports following the Investigathon. Applications will be open until Feb. 5, 2023.

Five Organizations Receive Funding to Further ‘Elevate’ Their Business and Operational Strategies


These news organizations are among five selected to receive grants – totaling up to $100,000 – to pursue projects that improve their operations and help them become more sustainable businesses. El Pitazo (Venezuela), OC Media (Georgia), Teyit (Turkey), The Centrum Media (Pakistan) and VoxEurop (France) were chosen to receive the funding after taking part in the first phases of Elevate, ICFJ’s news business hub.

ICFJ and The Self-Investigation launch "Resilience" Mental Health Program for Arabic-Speaking Journalists


To adopt healthier work practices that can sustain journalists' well-being, ICFJ is launching a new resilience program for Arabic-speaking journalists under the auspices of the ICFJ Pamela Howard Forum on Global Crisis Reporting. The initiative aims to shed light on the importance of mental health and well-being for workers in the media industry and provide crucial resources in Arabic for journalists. It kicks off October 10 to mark World Mental Health Day and will run through the end of November. You can register for the first session here.
