Siddhartha Dubey
ICFJ Knight Fellow Siddhartha Dubey led the World Media Academy Delhi, the only journalism institute in India that teaches students to report across multiple platforms, with hand-on, practical training in print, TV, online video, audio/radio and social media. The students had prestigious internships in 2012, including at Discovery and News Corp in the United States, and at APTN, Star News, Headlines Today, and news video website NewsX in India. By graduation day, more than half of the students had accepted job offers or were negotiating with employers.
Former Knight Fellow Todd Baer ran the WMA during his 2011-2012 fellowship, developing a sustainable business model and establishing a partnership with Greycells Education Ltd., a publicly traded education company that eventually will take over management of the school. Dubey was the first Indian fellow to manage the school, taking over in February 2012. He had developed a new curriculum and was recruiting for the 2012-13 class.
