Countering State-Based COVID-19 Public Health Disinformation: Remote Training for Journalists and Media

As disinformation around public health issues has become more prevalent, journalists and media professionals must navigate a complex information environment to report effectively around public health crises like COVID-19. 

ICFJ has partnered with CRDF Global, on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, to provide journalists with the skills and strategies to properly identify and counter disinformation around health security issues.

Eurasia Media Innovation Challenge

The Eurasia Media Innovation Challenge supports creative ways to produce and distribute high-quality content, leading to a better-informed public. This program offers grants of between US$5,000 and US$100,000 to applicants proposing innovative and entertaining projects to provide quality news and information to Russian-speaking populations in Eurasia.

Anti Viral Media Squad Moldova - ProFact Moldova Network

ICFJ is launching a new program in Moldova designed to strengthen local networks of media creators to counter disinformation in the country. This program will empower journalists, media professionals and civil society activists with products they need for engaging and creative storytelling based on fact-checking and social media monitoring.

U.S. Media Immersion Program for Central Asian Broadcast Journalists

Broadcast media professionals from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are invited to apply for one of two programs this summer aimed at sharpening their broadcast journalism skills and immersing participants in cutting-edge digital journalism in the United States.

For one program, ICFJ will select six English-speaking broadcast journalists for a four-week fellowship. The program will start in Washington, D.C., with an intensive orientation that will expose participants to U.S.

A Journey of Shared Discovery for Russian and American Journalists

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) invited young journalists from Russia to take part in the “Journey of Shared Discovery for Russian and American Journalists” exchange program. Fourteen journalists, who were selected in competition, came to the United States for a program from Tuesday, May 17, to Monday, June 6. Applicants needed to speak English.

Russia-U.S. Young Media Professionals Program

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) invites young, English-speaking journalists from Russia’s regions to take part in the “Russia-U.S. Young Media Professionals Program.” Eleven journalists, who will be selected in competition, will come to the United States for a program from Feb. 9 to 27, 2015.
