Emad Medhat
Emad Medhat was a 2014 ICFJ Professional Fellow from the Middle East, on the program "Unlocking the Economic Potential of Digital Media." After working as an editor in the IT industry, Emad worked for more than a decade at Egypt’s public-sector Nile News Channel writing and translating news reports, reaching the position of senior broadcast journalist. Medhat was the co-founder and chief editor of the channel’s online division Nile.eg. In 2012 began working for private-sector owned media outlets including Sada-El Balad television channel and Arab News Agency in addition to providing Arabic translation for Yahoo Sports’ coverage of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Medhat holds a bachelor’s in English language and literature from Cairo University and has completed training in voice coaching, presentation, and human rights for media specialists.
