Lamia Nabil
Lamia Nabil was a 2014 ICFJ Professional Fellow from the Middle East, on the program "Unlocking the Economic Potential of Digital Media." She is a business journalist with experience covering financial and economic affairs in the Middle East and beyond in terms comprehensible to an average person. While studying in London she gained experience as a business reporter at The Times of London newspaper, as an economics editor at the Financial Times newspaper, and as a broadcast journalist at the BBC Arabic service. In Egypt in 2011 and 2012 she worked as a television reporter and editor for ON TV’s show “Mal Misr” (Egypt money) and the program “Fi El Midan” (In the square) on Al Tahrir station, which took its name from the site of the Egyptian uprising. In 2013 Nabil was a business reporter for the English-language Daily News Egypt newspaper. She is currently business editor for the Arabic-language news website "DotMisr," supervising a staff of writers and collaborating with digital and broadcast teams. Nabil holds two master’s degree from University of London-Goldsmiths College in journalism and research in media and communications. She holds a licentiate of arts from Zagazig University, Egypt.
