The Johnson & Johnson Global Health Reporting Contest, one of ICFJ’s flagship programs, increases the quality and quantity of health coverage on four continents by offering journalists specialized training and access to leading experts.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, has designed a special reporting program February 23-25, 2018, that will offer 15-20 student reporters an unprecedented opportunity to learn about and report on the UN’s agenda to achieve social and economic equity by 2030.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) conducted a reporting and fact-finding tour for eight Egyptian journalists in South Korea and Japan in early 2018. With the rising threat and uncertainty over North Korea’s nuclear arms program, the tour was a timely immersion for the Egyptian journalists in information about the threats that loom over South Korea and Japan, two countries that, like Egypt, are important U.S. partners.

The “Covering the U.S. Presidency Reporting Program” will help visiting journalists report on and illuminate for their audiences the political path taken by President Donald Trump and the reaction of the public in the American heartland to his presidency.

“Covering Global Religious Conflict,” a six-week seminar offered by the International Center for Journalists from Oct. 10 to Nov. 18, will critically examine effective ways of reporting on religious conflicts.

“Hands Across the Water: An Opportunity for U.K. Journalists to Report on the U.S. Presidential Election and Political System” is a reporting tour for ten journalists selected from the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. The participants had an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. electoral process, current issues and candidates through meetings, site visits and public and political events as well as reporting opportunities.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), with support from the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Press Centers and U.S. Embassy Posts, invited 23 global journalists to report on the 2016 U.S. elections in battleground states.

Global journalists are invited to apply for this virtual reporting fellowship focusing on UN SDGs such as climate change, poverty, education, health and gender equality.

Journalists working in North America are invited to apply for a reporting fellowship in New York focusing on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
