With funding from the Scripps Howard Foundation, ICFJ is offering full scholarships for international applicants to Arizona State University's (ASU) elite Howard Center for Investigative Editing Program.
If selected for a scholarship, recipients will participate in a 12-week online course led by the award-winning professional faculty of ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and its pioneering Howard Center for Investigative Journalism. Learn more about the program.
Scholarship recipients will also participate in monthly ICFJ-led virtual discussions to connect with fellow international journalists and meet with prominent speakers from the field.
The online course will equip you with the skills to:
- Develop and guide strong, impactful investigative project ideas
- Construct compelling investigative stories in any medium
- Organize your team's workflow throughout the investigative process
- Bulletproof stories and work with legal counsel

Scholarship applications due May 6, 2025 (the ASU course will begin June 30, 2025)
Application Requirements:
- Applicants should be mid-career journalists (at least 5 years of investigative journalism experience)
- Must have working level proficiency in the English language
- Application open to journalists from around the world (excluding the USA)
- Freelance journalists may apply
- Applications must be submitted via the ICFJ application form to be considered for the scholarship

If selected for a scholarship, ICFJ will help facilitate your registration for the course through ASU.
If not selected for a scholarship, you can still enroll in the program at your own expense directly through the ASU website (full tuition cost).
